REST GetSearchResults migration to Unified Schema
Beginning January 15, 2007, the eBay Web Services REST GetSearchResults call will no longer support legacy XML formatted output. The supported output format will be the unified schema GetSearchResultsResponseType.
Developer Impact: If your application currently relies on legacy XML formatted output, you will need to modify your application by January 15, 2007 to use the eBay unified schema formatted output. This includes modifying your application to be able to recognize and understand the data elements and values returned in the GetSearchResultsResponse.
Developers should read the Knowledge Base article that we put together to assist you with the migration. The article includes detailed steps to help you migrate your application as well as pointers to key resources that would be useful with the migration.

NonSchemaSOAP Enum To Be Removed
The 467 WSDL, to be released by July 3rd, will not contain the following enum value: NonSchemaSOAP. In the Release Notes for version 463 of the API, it was announced that the NonSchemaSOAP enum (which formerly could be used in SetNotificationPreferences) should not be used because
that enum applies to the legacy schema XML API.
Information about migrating notifications-related code from the legacy XML API to the unified schema is available in the following Knowledge Base article: Migrating Notifications from Legacy to Unified Schema.
Please note that updates to applications using new WSDL versions should always be done in a test environment.

Congratulations Developers! Looks Like We Made It.
Wooo Hooo!!!
I know many of you have worked very diligently to get your applications migrated to the unified schema over the past months, and I just want to shout out a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you all.
Discussion threads about developing on the legacy XML API that expired on June 1, 2006 in the Legacy Schema API forum have been made read-only. New questions about developing on eBay Web Services can be directed to our other Developer Forums.
If you have any comments or feedback on the 18 month process, please email me.
Hope to meet and talk with you at the Developers Conference!

Migrating Platform Notifications
As announced back in May 2005, platform notifications are available in the unified schema.
We recognize all developers are pushing hard towards our June 1st deadline to make sure all your API calls are made in the unified schema by June 1, 2006. In addition, all applications need to meet our minimum compatibility requirement of version 415, as well as support 12 digit item ID numbers by June 1st.
This is a lot happening by June 1st! So that you can focus your efforts toward making our June 1st deadline for schema migration, minimum compatibility level requirement and item ID expansion, we are giving our developers a 30-day extension - through the end of June - to migrate platform notifications to the unified schema.
Remember that Thursday, June 1st remains the deadline:
- for all API calls to be in unified schema
- to meet our minimum compatibility requirement of version 415
- for applications to support item ID numbers of up to 12 digits
Now, developers have through the end of June to migrate your platform notifications to the unified schema.

Developer Forums Thread of Every Other Week
Last week in the Legacy XML API forum, developer aquanuke was looking for a few pointers how to migrate his existing PHP script before the upcoming June 1st deadline.
After grabbing code from one of our unified schema compliant, open source PHP code samples, aquanuke then customized it to display 10 entries per page for his application and posted the code for the benefit of other interested PHP developers, such lesley4893 and ck17.
Learn the latest information and share your knowledge of eBay Web Services in the Developer Forums.

Have you Migrated your Platform Notifications to the Unified Schema?
As part of your unified schema migration effort, you will also need to migrate your platform notifications to use the eBLSchemaSOAP notification Payload Type. A new Knowledge Base article contains some common questions and answers that should help you with migrating your notifications.
If you are still having issues subscribing to eBLSchemaSOAP notification Payload Type or parsing the Notifications in this format, please contact Developer Technical Support in time for the upcoming the June 1, 2006 migration deadline.
