Developers Conference Reception

The Developers Conference was kicked off in style with a reception hosted by Intel in the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. Things started a little slowly with travel weary groups of people lined up for the free buffet and open bar, but once hunger and thirst had been dealt with properly, the excitement and noise levels picked up noticably.

Spellcasters The House of Blues is known for quality live music, and tonight was no exception. The SpellCasters, a Las Vegas band, gave lively renditions of blues standards, such as Me and Bobby McGee and Knock On Wood. After the band took a well deserved break, John Tennant from Intel welcomed everyone to the conference.

Conference attendees and staff took advantage of the break in the music to swap stories and business cards. Several developers expressed interest in the Skype Developer Program. One developer came all the way from Singapore to find out more about Skype. Everyone seemed excited and ready for the conference to start.

It looks like this is going to be a great conference, but just in case, we better knock ... knock on wood ...
